You are all aware that RTÉ have been keen to access over €30m of our funds to offset the cost of managing the Pension Scheme. Their first attempt was fought long and hard and our representations succeeded. The case was refused by Government. Nevertheless, RTÉ appealed this decision and for some time now we have again had to put in considerable time and effort to defeat this second attempt to gain access to our pension fund.
We are happy to announce that Minister Catherine Martin has now withdrawn her support for this proposal. We are delighted.
Furthermore, we are even more pleased to announce that Government have now agreed to the Trustees request for 4% increase payable from January 1st 2023. Thank you for your support at the AGM. We shall continue as always to better align our pensions to the ever increasing cost of living.
